SharePoint MOSS 2007 People Search returning duplicate AD Users

I recently imported Active Directory into MOSS and now when I run a people search, I get duplicate results for most users...any idea why this is happening or what I can do to get around it?

I ended up creating a new 'Mysites' site collection as per

This seems to have fixed this problem too.
